Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Expect Miracles Foundation is currently seeking a Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join its small, hardworking team and help advance its mission to improve the lives of people impacted by cancer.  This person will be responsible for developing and managing our digital presence, including creation of a social media strategy that a) communicates our story effectively and b) actively engages our online communities. 

Expect Miracles Foundation is a national, Boston-based nonprofit organization that provides funding for innovative cancer research as well as support to young adults who are struggling financially because of cancer. We provide an entrepreneurial environment where all team members’ thoughts can be heard and can make a meaningful impact.

This position is perfect for someone who is creative, proactive, and has experience working in communications, social media, digital marketing, or a related field. Working in a team environment, this person will work with both events and program staff and will report to the Managing Director of Stewardship. 

Responsibilities include:

- Building and managing Expect Miracles Foundation’s online brand and communications across existing social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn) as well as new channels, including content creation, ongoing optimization, and analytics;

- Evaluating, engaging, and increasing audience/followers across social media platforms;

- Creating ad hoc/ongoing campaign reports;

- Designing consistent and effective messages, marketing materials, email blasts, and online campaigns to represent and promote Expect Miracles Foundation and its fundraising events;

- Collaborating with events and program staff to develop creative and compelling communication strategies for donors;

- Attending in-person fundraising and stewardship events for onsite social media;

- Identifying trends and insights and optimizing spend and performance;

- Brainstorming and leading new and creative growth strategies through digital marketing;

- Occasional content updates to website, including (at minimum) monthly blog posts;

- Evaluating emerging technologies; and

- Providing thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.

 

Qualifications: 

- Minimum of three years’ experience in strategic communications, journalism, marketing, or related field; 

- Proficient in marketing research and statistical analysis;

- Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate;

- Strong ability to manage projects independently;

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

- Flexibility, attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to multitask;

- Graphic design skills are a bonus.

 

Job Type: Full-time. Salary: $45,000-$50,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include: health insurance (70% company contribution), group life insurance, retirement plan.

Our office is conveniently located a block from South Station and is accessible by public transportation, though we are currently working remotely. We are open to considering remote candidates but travel to in-person events (primarily in Boston and NYC) will be required.
