Development Associate

Expect Miracles Foundation is currently seeking a Development Associate to join our small, hardworking team to help advance our mission to improve the lives of people impacted by cancer. This person will be responsible for securing event sponsors and managing relationships with those sponsors, developing and managing relationships with individual donors, and providing support around all the Foundation's fundraising efforts.

This position is perfect for someone with prior experience working in a fundraising role, who is goal-driven, personable, and willing to learn within an organization with a small staff. This person will report to the Managing Director of Stewardship and work collaboratively with colleagues on the programs, events, and communications teams.

Specific responsibilities will include:

-Securing event and campaign sponsorships and maintaining relationships with sponsors

-Coordinating the virtual year-end fundraising campaign

-Outreach to attendees/donors after each event

-Managing communications and maintaining relationships with individual donors

-Gift management, including tracking offline donations and mailing hard copy thank you letters as needed

-Providing support to remote volunteers participating in peer-to-peer online fundraising

-Helping to coordinate or support virtual events as well as onsite fundraising efforts at in-person events

-Engaging in other assorted fundraising-related tasks, as needed.

 

Qualifications:

-Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fundraising role

-Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact comfortably and confidently with Board members, program alumni and volunteers, and individual donors

-Experience working with Excel a must; experience with Salesforce a plus; experience in the financial services industry a bonus

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

Operations & Administration Manager

Expect Miracles Foundation provides an entrepreneurial environment where all team members’ thoughts can be heard and can make a huge impact. Our office is conveniently located a block from South Station and is accessible by public transportation. 

Expect Miracles Foundation is currently seeking a full-time Operations & Administrative Manager to join its small, hardworking team to help advance its mission to improve the lives of people impacted by cancer. This person will report to the Executive Director and be responsible for critical operational and administrative functions of the Foundation, while also assisting the programs team with the grant application and payout process.

We are looking for someone reliable, organized, and proactive to provide general and administrative support to Expect Miracles Foundation staff whose responsibilities will include:

-Assisting the Executive Director in managing the organization’s business/office/operational needs, including company insurance and employee benefits 

-Managing office mail and depositing checks

-Providing support to program staff and grant applicants during quarterly Samfund grant cycles and payouts

-Assisting with monthly payroll and benefits 

-Maintaining company records, contact lists, and records in Salesforce database

-Booking travel and accommodations

-Assisting with the preparation of records for our annual audit

-Helping with events-related tasks as needed.

 Qualifications:

-Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations and administrative work

-Passion for Expect Miracles Foundation's mission and work

-Proficiency in the basics of accounting

-Confidence with Excel spreadsheets

-Excellent time management skills

-Terrific work ethic and a keen eye for detail

-Ability to work independently and take initiative while collaborating within a small team

-Aptitude for technology, including MS Office, Quickbooks, and Mac computer

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
